My paintings are almost always various degrees of white to black because I believe original artwork should be treated more like a piece of furniture and be timeless in it’s nature while adding beauty and interest. However, I chose the beautiful and colorful eye as my website header because I am an advocate of the stories and authenticity of others and those are hardly ever just black or white.

As an Artist, my business Wall Attire by Hesselgesser is about designing and creating beautiful paintings that reflect who you are and how you feel in your home. I love texture and movement while adding interest through glass and who doesn’t love some sparkle?

As an Author, my business Dear-Feelings is about weaving thoughts, feelings and clarity into a written letter that is sent to a recipient in order to solve a problem, resolve conflict, address a situation, propose a beginning, an ending or simply telling someone important to you what might be important to them, in a beautiful, authentic and effective way. Have you ever thought of writing a love letter to yourself to help change a behavior, meet goals, or manifest whatever you want in your life?

As an Officiant, I am able to merge my ability to capture someone’s story and weave those stories into personalized vows that reflect the uniqueness of the relationship.

It all started when…

About ten years ago I found myself looking at a very large blank wall after I had given away a large piece of furniture to my parents. I had an excuse to go shopping! First I found just the right accent table to hold my favorite decorative jars and a beautiful lamp. Then I needed a beautiful piece of art to hang above the table. I looked. And I looked and I couldn’t find anything I loved. It needed to be large. It needed to be cool, unique but sophisticated. It needed not to come from Hobby Lobby and it needed to be within my budget. I couldn’t find it.

It was a Saturday night and I was feeling creatively challenged. I had crap in my garage. Literal crap left over from design projects that I had completed. I purchased a large blank canvas, set it on the floor and began to create. I wanted texture so I accidentally created a material that I could add to my paint to build up texture. I intentionally broke a glass vase that I never liked…I believe it came from an ex-boyfriend…and it felt great to break! I digress…

I added the glass to my painting, let it set and the next day hung it on my wall. Later that week I had a get-together and a woman who I had never met before asked me where I got my painting. I told her my story. She wanted to know how much I wanted for it. I stood looking at her with my mouth open because I was shocked and confused which left me speechless which was a surprise to everyone in the room! She left that night with my newly created painting in her car.

The next day I created another one while wondering if what had happened was a fluke. So, I showed up at a home show in another city (just in case it was a fluke and no one would recognize me in case I bombed) with four paintings. That is all I had time to create in the time that I had and I was scared to even bring the four. They all sold in the first thirty minutes.

It was not a fluke. I have spent the last ten years cultivating relationships, creating original works of art and having the privilege of selling my work all across the United States. Sometimes it is hard to know what to say when you want to say it. Communications are hard especially when emotions are high or conflict is present. No one really likes confrontation, yet we all want to be understood. Meaningful exchanges of enlightenment are never going to happen via text and avoidance only serves to hurt you…not the thing or person you are avoiding.

So here is how Dear Feelings works:

Step 1: Choose your method of communication delivery. You can choose an email, or between the Gold, Silver and Platinum Letters.

Step 2: Schedule your complimentary 30-minute consultation with me so I can listen to your feelings, understand your situation and begin to personalize your letter.

Step 3: Fill out who your letter will be delivered to and associated address along with desired date or time frame.

Step 4: Purchase your letter.

Once your consultation has been completed, you will receive a draft of your letter. You will have an opportunity to review and modify your written feelings. Upon approval, your letter will be sent!

Words have power and words that are created via emotional authenticity yields more influence than anything else I can think of. The written word has been used to create a constitution, a bible, a song. A yes has the ability to give hope and excitement while a no has the ability to deflate and depress. A letter was used to express feelings, details of one’s life and even love, yet it has become a lost art substituted by a minimum of characters that weave together inauthenticity, judgment, and even hate.

So whether you are wanting to solve a problem, express a feeling, transcribe a legacy or break up with someone, I can help you negotiate and communicate your feelings into a letter that will help you get from wherever you are to where you want to be with clarity, acceptance and authenticity.
